you will see I'm not a big message poster, but I felt called to share my journey with you today.
There is life after a BI !
********************
You will see from my profile, I suffered a BH and some vision loss in 2012, and remain at risk of a second haemorrhage.
After 8 months rehabilitating following the BH ,I managed to return to work in 2013 Praise the Lord indeed! Even though mental fatigue remains the biggest challenge on a daily basis, I have developed coping strategies and take the respite time I need whenever practically possible.
I'm not able to do as much as I could before the BI, but I enjoy holiday time with friends and I belong to a lovely local church where I enjoy great fellowship.
In 2014 I met a gent who I have been dating for a year now . He doesn't see the BI, but the person I am. He also sees the more rounded person i have become through my BI experience.
We hired a tandem for a few months and are finding that to be a real,' hoot' π.
Wow what an uplifting and positive story of happiness, moving on and achievement. It is so good to hear your story and I am so pleased that you have posted it because it is good to know that positives can come from difficult BI situations. Love the photo of you on the tandem. It looks great fun and I have always had a desire to give one a go myself. Enjoy. Very best wishes for your wedding this summer I am very pleased for you. It is great that you have found your guy who loves you for who you are now and doesn't measure you against who you were. x
I made wedding invites using hand stamped images of a bride and groom on a tandem but I haven't known people actually use a tandem...I think it would make for wonderful photos...and you both already look comfortable on it. How exciting...
Yes, we are Gamma Knife Surgery Sheffield twins indeed!
Yes, just had the two year post surgery cerebral Angiogram, to see if I'm healed yet, and I'm not. The AVM is not Shrinking at the expected pace, so I'm heading back to RHHOSP for more Gamma Kinfe surgery in Oct 2015 after the wedding.
That's really great news. Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding. Also well done for having such a positive outlook on life! I wish you all the happiness for your future ! ππ
That is a great and uplifting story and I truely wish you the very best for the future.
Have to say though that either you travel better with your back to the engine or possibly a crafty way to avoid doing any peddaling yourself . Of course it could even be that you have forgotten which way is front, something I do frequently since ABI, often with either embarrassing or hilarious results.
Take care and enjoy your life and future togather to the full. 33 years married now and despite our ups, downs and disagreements can think of nobody I'd rather share my life with (please don't let on to my wife I said that, she's likely to get big headed )
