walk away from the situation to cool down and gather your thoughts before re-assessing and tackling the situation

ADs = anti-depressants. Worth a try if you're not already on them, they help me alot.

barny1 I have been on anti - depressants now for 3 months and I feeling so much better and sleeping better. For ages I was in denial as didn't want to go on them , but I feel great now . Thank goodness .

HI muzzyden, which antidepressants are you on? And what are they for? depression? anxiety? mood stabilising (mood swings) ?, sleep?

I ask as i'm trying to avoid them, but always keep an open mind. If I can find someone who has similar symptoms to myself then I've got a better chance of approaching my doctor and finding the right treatment for myself, if relevant.

No worries if you prefer not to, I understand.

Hi veryfuzzyem The anti- depressants I'm on are mirtazapine they are for depression and I'm sleeping like a log at night now as well which is great .

Call your care team and find a trauma therapist. PTSD counseling works. Find a "good fit" with your therapist. Some are much more skilled than others. Have your care team help you find a good psychiatrist who can find the right medication for you. Sometimes it takes quite a few trials. Your therapists will give you teach you coping skills. You are stronger than you think you are.

On the top of the page, select "communities" there will be a drop down menu, choose browse communities, you should then be able to browse and select PTSD Global Community. Then, you are a member. I hope I explained this OK, I have a TBI and I'm horrible with computers. We'd love to have you aboard!
