Done it Again Pt 5
THAT MUST HAVE BEEN THE MOST IRRITATING THING EVER. I WOULD HAVE BEEN FURIOUS WITH MYSELF.
I'M GOING TOMORROW WHICH I KNOW IS A THURSDAY (I STRUGGLE WITH WHAT DAY OF THE WEEK IT IS) BUT I'VE HAD THE 16TH AS THE DATE STUCK IN MY HEAD. . LUCKILY MY OTHER HALF HAS REMINDED ME THAT THURSDAY IS 17TH.
MAKES ME FEEL SO STUPID.
Yup
I have phoned Hospital waiting for a new appointment
I'M GOING TO SEE THE NEURO TOMORROW, IF I REMEMBER I'LL TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT.
Ivedone hat too. I even turned up on correct date and time but wrong month! I got the correct time date etc but wrong hospital, luckily they understood my difficulties and didnt give m too much grief rebooking appointments.
Yes dillm, I did the same thing last month except I arrived a day early, so at least I didn't lose my appointment ; just a touch of deja-vu the following day ! I have all the reminder-aids in place but life continues to sail along without me much of the time.
Hope it's not too long 'til your next appt. xx
I have done the same thing in the past and I don't have a brain injury.
Don't beat yourself up about it xx
I've done it - I remember looking at phone - registering I had physio at 4.00 but then promptly made it 4.30 in my mind and arrived early for 4.30 but too late for 4pm and missed out - the physio service is totally unsympathetic to head injury despite me explaining it - threatening to discharge me. It is frustrating that you can have all the aids and reminders but still get it wrong. But people without BI do it too - I work in a clinic and people get wrong days/times too so Headchild is right - we are not alone. I find not beating yourself up is easier said than done when you really want the appointment and go back to the bottom of the queue again.
I have no intention of beating myself up over a missed appointment but on the other hand I get times and dates wrong on a regular basis
