This coming Sunday the 29 th september marks a full year since the lives of my loved ones changed for ever .Its been a up hill struggle and has robbed us all of the life we should be living .

Saddly things are nt getting any better now as progress is slow but they are all doing the best they can and are still here .

I ve lost some thing very special to me , the reason its gone is as a direct result of that awfull day last year and the after math of the Accident that is still being felt now.

I hope justice is seen soon when the case is finally in court ! ! !

A year is a minute in terms of recovery; it takes a very long time. Justice in court ... never had that thanks to a dodgy lawyer who went to gaol instead. I was lucky to be alive to be honest, the old me had gone but I've gone on to make something of myself. If I can do it, then so can you and yours. I owe a lot to my dear late Mum who cared for me; that was her contribution, mine was becoming something worthwhile.

I can identify with you. Don't give up. my husband & i are struggling with the new people we are after a serious car accident on our honeymoon in Mexico in Apr 2012. Left him with a severe brain injury. The symptoms are now invisible which makes it so much harder for people to understand. It's so complicated. But I am determined not to let it affect our marriage & we're going to do everything to save it. My husband has issues with anger, frustration, fatigue & most of all grieving for his old life. Look after yourself x

Hello!

All i can add is you have to think positively and have targets to work towards! Life is very different and you will have a few blips on the way but it can be good too if you maintain people around you! Wishing you all the very best!!

My husband is five years out from a stroke that affected his thinking and reasoning abilities. He cannot drive due to some vision loss. After about a year he stayed at plateau, but the good news is, he doesn't get worse. We have adapted our activities to those that he can do, and I pay for a respite person to take over when I need to get away. The best are our two black Labs who keep him company and follow him everywhere. Initially, I thought they would be extra work, but I was really wrong. They are my helpers in keeping him busy and connected with daily life.

Hi vimto. Hope you won't have to wait too much longer for the case to come to court...........it's really awful having it hanging over you when things are already so challenging. In the meantime, I agree with the importance of targets, as mentioned by watso; even the smallest ones can provide much-needed 'purpose'. Best wishes to you all, Cat x
