WHICH IS BEST BANK ACCOUNT FOR PEOPLE IN RECIEPT O... - Headway
WHICH IS BEST BANK ACCOUNT FOR PEOPLE IN RECIEPT OF EESA & DLA/PIP ??
i just have a standard account, can you not just go in and switch, whether they are reluctant or not?
i am guessing most standard accounts are the same, so it would be down to which bank you prefer
many thanks.i am with RBS- yes i know they of FRED THE SHRED SCANDAL.BUT AS FAR AS I AM AWARE u dont get a chq book and you cant set up direct debits etc.all of which as a busy working mother i rely on 4 paying household bills.have i got this wrong?
thanx 4 this.unfortunatley i am house bound so cannot get to branch.they were really helpful at 1st but am finding not so now.i should try halifax but as i remember my dad has their money there and he finds it a right bugger cos he must continually take out a small amount anfd then be seen to pay exactly same amount back in so it tricks their computer in actually showing you are continuing to use their service??? confused i was but hey ho.take care n hope u have a good week .
Try a basic bank account most if not all banks have them you can open them online
Many thanx. i asked this of my existing bank several times.they said they do not offer a debit card nor the facility to pay or accept direct debits or any money transfers.they were about as useful as a glass buttock.u see i have to pay a monthly management fee with rbs royaties gold account.which was the only 1 they would allow me to open 8 yrs ago.i neither need nor use the so called accompanying RG BENEFITS.I HAVE YET again asked yesterday and today-no answer except TRY DISABLING YOUR COMPUTER COOKIES??? W/ I mean BANKERS.APOLS 4 OFFENSIVE COMMENT RE BANKERS.
RBS select is the account you want, whoever told you they don't offer the facilities were lying
you get debit card/ cheque book you can do direct debits etc.. and there is no fee
I don't know whether it will meet your needs but I changed to a Halifax Easycash account. No interest - I don't have enough money in there for it to bother me - but no monthly charges. Electron card, so ok for most stuff on on-line. Opened it on-line, no hassles from them. Fine for direct debits, standing orders and stuff. Not caused me any problems yet.
if you see reply i gave to biker style.i thought of halifax then found my folks have their money with them and to be honest am not sure its worth the hassle? but i really appreciate every reply.many thanks and take care as you go along this wonderful road called disability street.xx
Im with RBS too, i was originally told to change to santandear because they were being sold off, i live in Scotland and the account was held in Englandshire. I had to move my account to the local branch, they never told me about the select account, i would have gone with that option because i never use the so called benefits and i pay for the privalige of keeping my cash there.
It should be like the pip thing and the mis selling of products. The other thing is i got a lump of cash in the bank and it was just as they stoipped paying intrest on the gold accounts. They never told me or suggested putting in one that did do intrest. Yeah thanks for that..
It takes me so long to remember new things that im scared to move the banks. Id probably get shafted then too.
i am sorry you too have had a bum deal from rbs.their disability equality policy must nit have reached them yet.praps it'll take as long as the PPI SCANDAL for them to realise n sniff the coffee.praps we could all send them some samples.cheers 4 your reply .hope you have a good week.you should coz u have been ultra kind in taking time to reply to this boring old F/TART......hee hee.hey ho.
Try a Bank of Scotland easycash account. You get a visa electron debit card and can set up direct debits and standing orders, it doesn't have an overdraft facility though.
many thanks for your answer.I am considering it! hope you have a nice day/week.
It was the account I used for my esa/dla until ATOS decided I was no longer entitled to esa.
I intend to have a great week/month/year thanks.
