Don't feel too hot today.

Started to get a strange feeling in my head last night, and not the feeling I get before a seizure. It's probably paranoia, but it's hard to get around these feelings when it means your brain could be bleeding.

Problem is, when you got too a hospital and say "my head feels funny" with no discernible pain, they look at you funny and send you to the "you're making this up" ward. Which to be fair, I probably am, and they have other much more serious things to attend to. Besides, if it is the worst that's happening then it'll just happen anyway.

If that made you sad, here's a video of a corgi rolling down some stairs to cheer you up.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling so hot...it must be really difficult to maintain a balanced perspective when living with the prospect of a potential bleed...Its hardly delusional if the threat is real - have you considered/been offered counselling to help find ways of dealing with these feelings.

I've got my first session with a councillor on the 10th, and apparently she's very good. I'm looking forward to it, but I know that it's something that I'll have to come to terms with on my own at some point.

Thanks for your concern :)

My husband had his 3rd seizure on Friday. I am keen to hear from other sufferers or carers how they cope with these awful things. You say you get a "feeling" before having one, what kind of feeling is that. Do you have the full tonic clonic seizures. they are so frightening. Steve had a burst aneurysm and SAH in October but only had his first seizure in March. I feel like we are living on the edge all the time now, waiting for the next one to happen. All of his happened in the morning, 2 around 7am and 1 at 10.30. And just as he was starting to make some progress in his fight for recovery. I hope your "feelings" in your head are just something and nothing. Best wishes, Molly

I had my 7th seizure a few days ago, aren't they just awful? I'm sure they're horrible to watch.

Fortunately I get a good few minutes of warning before I actually start having the seizure, it's a very distinct feeling that you can't confuse with anything else. Sort of feels like you're coming out the back of your body, if that makes any sense. But it does mean that I can calmly tell somebody, explain what's going to happen, and tell them what they should do next.

My seizures are all tonic clonic as well, and yeah I'm on edge a lot of the time, it's a bit like the Sword of Damocles. My seizures have always been in the day, and fortunately I've always been around people.

I'm so sorry to hear you guys have been through so much, it can seem so unfair sometimes.

Hi BSA. Thank you for your reply, yes they are awful. You sound like you are coping well though. My husband is never left on his own, we are both retired (nearly 60) so at least I don't have to worry about him being alone when it happens. He also had a stroke, so is not mobile, and in a way that makes it easier as I have to be with him when he goes to the loo etc. We are hopeful that the neuros will get his medication sorted, and maybe they will stop. Is there any sign of yours being halted by medication? I really hope so, its a hard thing to have to live with. The worst thing for my husband has been not being able to drive or play golf, his big passions. And if the seizures continue, he may never be able to, but we don't think about that at the moment. All the very best with your counselling, we are still waiting an appt.!! Best wishes, Molly

I've not had a seizure since last week, but the medication they give me know makes me feel like I'm on a different planet.

I love golf too! I'm getting back to it though (I'm not great yet mind)

It's all fairly hideous business isn't it. You don't realise these things happen to people.
