This is my 2nd day of eating Juvela gluten-free Fresh Fibre bread, I've now got the same symptoms I get when i've eaten bread or biscuits that contain gluten. Anyone else had a reaction to this product?

It's because of the codex wheat starch. It's classed as gluten free as it contains less than 20ppm but if you are extremely sensitive then you will still have symptoms when eating anything above 5ppm. Xxx

Glad I saw this as was thinking of trying Juvela bread for a change.

Thank you for the info, I did read this but as newly diagnosed and still await to see a dietian I didn't take much notice of this. I've tried Roberts Bakery Yes! You Can Fresh Brown bread and been fine but can't see any codex wheat starch on the ingredients, I'll check Roberts Bakery's web site.

The nearby hospital have NGCI but use wheat starch and wheat glucose. Why put patients at risk. Hospitals still dont understand the effects of gluten on coeliacs. I was very badly effected, but not one member of staff showed any interest. The following day I was worn out and very weak. I was feeling too ill to care. More information required for all trained staff, as they seem to treat it too lightly due to lack of knowledge. Read the article in the Sunday Sun about a coeliacs reaction to a restruant meal.

That bread made me feel very peculiar so I stopped eating it. Not my usual gluten symptoms, but very brain foggy and slightly nauseous. Thanks Babycakes for the information about codex wheat starch ... seems like an ingredient to look out for.

Some people react to the gum or the hydoxymethylcellulose in the bread. It makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Thanks for this info as well, Roberts Bakery Yes! You Can brown bread seems to be ok for me, can't see any mention of codex but there is Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose in it. Looks like its the codex wheat starch.

Yes I also had a bad reaction to this bread. The best bread is Warburton's

Any of the Fibre products give me the runs - probably because the ingredients are laxative.

I have crohns as well as coeliac I wouldn't touch fibre bread I would instantly bloat and have the runs I get 8fresh Juvela loaves on prescription and also 8juvela part baked I am fine with these and have been for 3years I unfortunately cannot eat veg or much fruit it upsets me so I would be lost without bread

Thank you, i'll try the other bread. This fibre bread gave me tummy ache, terrible ingestion, head ache, the burps just all the things that eating gluten gives me. I felt so unwell I couldn't get to work on the monday morning.

Glad I read this, as I was thinking of trying it. I use Glutafin brand which I find to be great, so think I will stick with it, although I know each person reacts differently. Can i just say that Glutafin mini mcrackers, pasta etc are scrummy, and white fresh bread very nice
