Why isn’t gluten free bread full size? Is there a reason they can’t make it full size or is it available and I’m just not looking in the right place? Any recommendations for a really nice soft white loaf?

Gluten free bread
Hi Rayrae,
If you want large loafs then I’d suggest you consider making our own. There are loads of tips on the archive posts. If you do and want a good breadmaker then buy a Panasonic.
My bread is so big, 25% of it sticks out of the toaster.
I’m thinking of buying bread maker which Panasonic model do you recommend as seems to be a range of panisonic bread makers thanks
Hi, I have a SD-ZB2502. It has a gluten loaf setting within the menu so this cuts down the time it takes to complete a cycle. I’ve had it a few years so it may have be superceeded. Also consider buying one secondhand. lots of people buy or have given to them, bread makers and then they end up on a shelf never to be used. However always go for a Panasonic as they are the best by far in my experience. Best of luck.
The only brand I like when it comes to bread/pizza/dough replacement is Schar, everything else is pants and they stick that horrible Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose in it that gives me even worse stomach problems! To be honest I hardly eat bread substitutes now, so a small shop bought loaf in the freezer for the occasonal toast works well for me!
ps does anyone know how I keep accidently turning on formatting??? (!!)
We like Warburtons tiger loaf. It isn’t sliced but it is a better texture than others and a decent size.
Most of the GF breads are made with rice flour and potato starch. These are dense flours and thick would be hard to raise. Aldi supermarkets in Australia have just introduced a fresh white and a seeded loaf. Very nice for sandwiches.
Try Sainsbury loaves, they are baked on the premises in the Bakery. You may have to ask for them as they are not always on the shelf. The loaves are small but not dry at all and very tasty. Rolls are good too. Highly recommend them.
Hi there, I buy Warburtons gluten free artisan sourdough cob and it's a lovely loaf with great taste and texture:

I tend to bake my own gf bread but buy this loaf sometimes.
It may be difficult to prevent a larger (sliced) loaf from breaking up.
Having tried many at home and abroad I prefer “Warburton’s” (brown) seeded, then “Schar” (brown) seeded which can be found in most European supermarkets.
I keep them in the freezer as only average about one slice per day max.
I have to agree with Rayrae. You may have to make your own to get a decent size loaf. Costco used to carry a gluten free bread that was of a decent size, taste and texture, but hasn't for quite a while now. Since I am grain free, other than oats, my husband makes a decent bread from almond flour.
