Hi guys, I don't know what happens to me.I'm getting grey to fast! I don't think is normal !Every month I use L'oreal or Garnier or Botanics but is not helpful. I can use something else?Is a cause for this? B12 or iron?

Hi Mikeila, Yes B12 deficiency and low iron can cause this you need to get your levels checked asap. I have had alot of grey hair since i was 15 years old but a few years ago when my levels were extremely low i swear i could almost watch the grey hair sprouting!! i now have my B12 shots and iron tablets and its better but i find even hair dye doesnt really cover it or if it does it will fade even after one wash?

Hi Paula, thank you so much for your answer.It is frustrating coz I dont now what to use anymore.I will buy some B12 and I will check the iron level.Now I'm dying my hair every month.

I am lucky my sister is a hairdresser! i have no clue what she uses other than it is a delicate one as my hair also has a tendancy to fall out so she doesnt use anything harsh on it, but like i said it doesnt last that long anyway, im destined to be grey lol

Hi Mikeila, I don't know how old you are but for many many years I used Loreal Excellence in blonde colours. I was grey at 25 eventually I got fed up dyeing it every month and just let it come through. It is now a fab shade of silver with a bit of dark at the back and everyone loves it. Been like that since I was 40ish! Good luck x
Hi Mikeila - there are several B vitamins that impact upon health and help to keep the hair its natural colour. Besides B12 there is another that is required to reverse grey hair it's called PABA - this is often called Vitamin Bx. Added to these, a lack of copper in the diet also steals away the colour from hair. So it is best to try and get a well balanced diet. The problem that we all have is although many of the vitamins are readily available in various foods, man has grown to depend more and more on eating grains to access daily requirements and of course none of us can no longer eat grains.

Hi Lynxcat- sounds dangerous to take PABA supplements. I prefer to eat spinach and mushrooms. I think I will take some B complex vitamins and to have a balanced diet. I'm working from 8 am until 6pm, so my problem it's the time, I don't have time to cook and when I get home I'm to tired to cook something.I usually eat yogurt, or a salad, or fish and go to sleep.Thank you for your help and if you have other suggestions please tell me.
Mikelia - I wasn't suggesting that you begin taking the PABA supplements. What I was inferring is that society relies on large portions of grains to take in its daily supplements of vitamins, especially the B range. As we cannot have gluten, we cannot have grains and so need to revert back to traditional methods to obtain the B range of supplements. This usually means traditional cuts of meat such as liver and kidney, venison, wood pigeon, etc and dark coloured leafy greens. A good B complex vitamin tablet, which you mentioned taking above will have PABA included in its ingredients.
50 hours of work each week must leave you feeling very drained - I don't suppose that you would feel like cooking anything once you get back home.
I do have one little suggestion that may be of help occasionally perhaps: years ago people often made potage which is both tasty and nourishing. It would often be made on one day and eaten on following days. It is merely throwing everything into a large saucepan preferably with a lid and allowing it to firstly boil then simmer. Any meat may be added including minced meat or for those that are vegetarian they can include cashew nuts, lentils, peas and beans .. I use various versions of this if I've had a busy day and want to cook a meal in the evening. Not much help with your situation really but perhaps others might have other ideas to help.
Hi, I frequently make a Potage...but wasnt aware was called that. Always make meals for 2 days.
Hi Lynx, great ideea with the potage thing, I'll try it. At the moment , I take Centrum .If you know something better then this vitamins tell me please.I've got meat just once a week, especially chicken, but I like fish more.

Hi Mikeila, I mainly now purchase Healthspan products as they are all free of gluten apart from their hair and nails which contains wheat germ oil.

I have cod liver oil every day and then vary other vitamins and minerals and things like loose psyllium husk powder- if I feel a little sniffle coming on I usually have zinc and this appears to prevent it developing into something else, usually.
Often with other supplements there is a period of time specified to take them for and then it is best to rest the body from them. Obviously, when this is advised then it is best to follow these guidelines. The idea of supplements to to aid healing and to help fitness and where possible to make sure that they are obtained from natural sources. The reason I like Healthspan products is that it tells you where the ingredients have been sourced and they tend to be natural. It is always best to be cautious and when taking any supplements - only take them if you need to and always look out for any adverse reactions and if you feel something is wrong stop taking them immediately. Many doctors do not approve of taking supplements unless they have been prescribed - some feel it unnecessary whilst others think it is dangerous.
It pays to read all of the informaiton that is on their (Healthspan) site to find out if any of their products might not be suitable, etc - and also tick for their free booklet as they provide in-depth features about all types of ailments and illnesses which often have pieces of new information included in them.
