Hi Mikeila, firstly do you eat codex wheat? as this can cause anaemia and bloating and these low levels of gluten only affect the coeliac upper gut tract so would not necessarily show up in a biopsy. The same applies to malted cereals and oats with some coeliac. So I would eliminate these in the first instance, if you eat them that is!

Speaking from my personal experience this is what happened with me as I didn't introduce codex at first and my villi recovered really quickly as did my iron levels. I was diagnosed as I had severe anaemia. When I tried codex my iron levels dropped and I was told I had IBS I thought this was all a coincidence so stopped the codex and the IBS and anaemia went away.

Now if you want to find a homeopath in your area a google search will reveal your nearest practitioner.

Hi guys.Thank you so much for your answers. My diet is GF and I find out recentley that I'm lacto intolerance aswell.I didn't eat oats ever.If i don't take vitamins every month I fill tired and anaemic.2months ago I made the capsule endoscopy and my stomach, duodenum and small intenstin are ok.Because they didn't find anything they told me the belching and all the simptoms are related with the stress (anxiety or depression).I don't feel depresed.I beleve is more about my digestion.Maybe I need Kreon or something else . I noticed when I'm woried about something or stressed all simptoms become wors.

Jerry, I must eat GF and wheat free ?

Thank you again

Homeopathy is unlikely to help - my guess is you have another food-related intolerance. My advice would be to keep a food diary and monitor what you eat/drink and how you feel after. You should start to spot patterns.

I went to a homeopath last year with similar problems, complete waste of time and money, for me anyway. Since then I have cut them out oats and I've noticed a bit of a difference. Hope you feel better soon. :0

Hi Mikeila, On the whole, iron is one of the hardest of minerals for humans to absorb. To try and increase your iron levels naturally it is important to change the way that you eat and to regularly take in foods that your body can acquire the iron from fairly easily. Here is a lovely explanation on how you can make sure that you are taking in enough with your daily eating habits. Read it through very carefully as it also explains foods that prevent the intake of iron by the body.

Bloating and belching is often more difficult to manage. It is caused through a mixture of both habit and type of food that is ingested. Firstly, it is always recommended to try to slow down the pace of eating - this is habit and so very difficult to change. We often think we are eating quite slowly when if fact the majority of people eat far too quickly - almost as though our stomachs have teeth to finish the process. So try to double the time it takes to eat your meals; chew slowly until the food in your mouth is noticeably sweeter to the taste before swallowing; try to only have one type of food on your fork at a time, it is unwise to mix foods if you have a slow digestion; keep carbohydrates separate from fats at meal times; add aloe vera - either in juice form, capsule or tablet at meal times; take a good quality high strength pro-biotic capsule with 20 billion good bacterium; eat live yoghurts but only after meals; some people benefit from artichoke tablets to aid digestion; others occasionally use charcoal; fruit often causes bloating as do large quanitites of greens and some grains.

Hi Mikeila, You don't need to consume cows milk to have pro-biotics there are a fair size range of alternatives including fermented vegetables.

Here is a site that offers a variety of products from capsules to powders .. we would all probably benefit by adding some of these to our diets. Don't be constrained as if these do not appeal then plum for good old fashiioned sauerkraut (pickled cabbage) or any other of the pickled vegetable ranges.

Hi Lynxcat, you told me not to mix the foods in one meal.So if I will eat jako+chese+salads will be ok?I'm kind of lacto-vegetarian and prefer fish instead of meat and I drink only waterand tea .I think I eat healty but I don't know why this belching all the time no matter what I eat.Sometimes even every half in hour and I feel full quickly and heavy..Can you give advice how to mix the foods please..

Hi Mikeila .. what is jako, I have not heard of it?

Regarding not mixing food types this has been suggested quite often over the years. It is suggested that people find it easier if they have carbohydrate at one meal perhaps with a little protein but never any fat. At another meal they would have protein and fat but no carbohydrates. It is suggested that this makes it easier for the body to digest the food and take out the nutrients. If you do have tummy problems it is probably worth a try. So for breakfast perhaps rice with a little white fish but not oily fish or salmon. Perhaps salad and goats 's cheese for lunch and may be salad, baked potato and chickpeas or beans for evening meal.

I should have added that in my own personal experience I find it extremely difficult to digest anything, other than fruit when it is raw. Lettuce is impossible and causes me to belch ...

Wondered what saurerkraut does. Had it in New Zealand in 1956 with mashed potato.

Mikeila it is worth you seeking advice from your GP. It maybe IBS but other things should be ruled out. It's also worth asking about seeing a dietitian to discuss the FODMAP diet. If you do have IBS this an help and even if you don't it can help identify foods that are hard to digest. Search FODMAP in our tag directory on this site for more info.
