Yes- it's an autoimmune disease. Much in the same way you retain immunity to certain bugs for life, once your white cells are sensitised to gluten, that's it, I'm afraid.

Yes I'm afraid it is a life-time condition. Sadly there's no getting away from it once you have been given the diagnosis of Coeliac Disease.

as you can see we all agree that coeliac is for life. some stupid doctors tell you that after some time they want you to go on a "gluten challenge" don't do it and ask for a second opinion, its your legal right to do this.
