Have you used Glutenzyme? Does it work for you?

I have encountered Glutenzyme as a food supplement which allegedly contains enzymes that dissolve gluten. Have you tried it and does it work for you?

I carry it all the time. I do not use it to allow me to eat gluten-bearing foods. It allows me to be in environments where gluten is eaten - like friends houses. Otherwise I get gut ache within half an hour and I had given up visiting. WIth care and regular glutenzyme I managed an almost pain free three day visit to my (very careful) sister.

where can it be bought, never heared of it.

Amazon or Auravita sell it

you can order it at your local chemist (you will have to wait a day while they get it). Make sure you get the right thing - one chemist offered me lactase instead.

Otherwise just put the word into google and you will find on-line suppliers - I also buy lactase and pro-biotic pills (can't take the dairy so live yogurt no good, and soya doesn't suit me either). I buy mine from bodykind.com

Can anyone explain to me as to why visiting a gluten environment can cause problems. Once again I ask is it safe to walk past a bakery at my local shopping center. I am mystified.

I am not too sensitive i guess, unlike some who post on this site, but i use Glutenzyme if i am eating something i am not sure about, eg a sauce i've been assured is 'gluten-free'. I certainly would not tuck into a cake or biscuit and take one!

I react to airborne gluten..so do not go to places where they make pizza in the open air..such as Italian restaurants...and I have had problems in a shopping centre bakery where they are baking and cutting bread with an electronic slicer.
