Gluten free and diabetic

Hi does anyone else suffer from diabetis and celiac i have been called in for blood test and my results have gone from 62 to 80 just wondering if its due to gluten free foods i must admit i cant exercise due to back problem and bedbound for weeks at a time which does not help

Is this your HBA1c test you are referring to? Most gluten free bread is made with a variety of starches, which will convert to sugars as you digest them, added to which, some are quite high in sugar to mask the non-bread like flavour and texture. I am not diabetic, but mostly avoid supermarket GF bread as it is not very pleasant. You can buy better 'artisan' GF bread on line, but it is expensive.

Yeah that was the teat i meant i have started to make my own bread and cut it to only 1 loaf a week i was not diabetic before being found to be cealiac which is what made me ask thanx for the reply
