Hi everyone,

My wonderful Mum who is 68 was diagnosed with a grade 4 Glioblastoma approx 4 weeks ago, she has undergone surgery to remove the tumour which was successful. It’s in her left temporal lobe and she’s slowly recovering from the brain surgery.

She starts her radiotherapy on the 23rd June and is going to start a chemo tablet too. We are also exploring any clinical trials and have been looking into having her tumour examined by Oncologica to see if there are any clinical trials available for her tumour type.

It has been a roller coaster 4 weeks since she was diagnosed and I think we are all still in shock. I’m praying that she responds well to the treatment and we can keep it at bay for as long as possible.

I’ve been reading some posts this evening on here and just wanted to extend my support to all who are going through similar journeys. It breaks my heart, she is usually so fit and well. I’m trying to be as supportive and positive as I can for her (and me).

Thanks.

Hello Something_blue.I was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma in May 2010, so here is some advice, which I hope will help:-

i. Despite your mother's diagnosis, it is important to stay positive as much as possible.

ii. There are some things you can do to improve your mother's recover such as ensuring she has a healthy diet, which includes food which has anti-cancer properties such as blueberries, pecan nuts, turmeric spice, you can find more guidance about diet on the Brain Tumour Charity website. Keep to home made meals, etc.

iii. I would also recommend considering the use of food supplements to help boost her immune system. I have been using Higher Nature's Immune+ tablets since May 2010, which are designed to do this. I also take their Complete Omega tablets, which are also good for the brain.

iv. I drink ozonated water, which has extra oxygen in it, oxygen kills cancer cells, where as sugar feeds them. I use a water ozonator machine to do this, which is a Sota one which is available to buy on-line. I also take 3% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide, adding drops of it to 1/2 pint of ozonated water. I call this my alternative anti-cancer treatment. Google the Truth About Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide for more information. It is an American document, but the one I used to make my decision to use it. If you have any questions about this, just send me a post.

v. During chemo, it is important that your mother drinks at least a pint of water with the tablet, this will help the body to absorb it quicker - it is what I did.

vi. During your mother's treatment, she should rest as much as possible, especially when she is tired. It is important for her to listen to her body and sleep when necessary. This is part of the healing process, which does take time.

vii. Where possible, laugh as often as you can - laughter is a great healer - this is just as important for you and your family, as well as your mother.

viii. Do not waste time and energy looking up stories on the internet about other people and survival rates, it will do you no good. Use you time and energy wisely to remain positive and supportive of each other.

Finally have faith that you can all get through this and live a longer life together.

To use a quote from one of my heroes Lawrence of Arabia 'nothing is written', meaning nothing is pre-ordained.

I hope this helps.

Stay positive, safe and well.
