had my first cataract band I stent b surgery yesterday

Can’t remember or if they said what I needed to do about my glasses

Someone did mention getting optican to take out existing lens from your current specs and replace with clear lens

What has anyone else been told

My correct artificial lens is a different prescription to my glasses

If you've had one eye done, get the optician to take out that lens. You don't need to put in clear glass.

I was told to wait at least six weeks then get my eyes tested again as I'd need new glasses-which I did. Luckily I still had a selection of old glasses and found a pair which gave reasonable vision. I used those for the six weeks.I think taking the lens out is rather a clever idea- it's the first time I've heard of it!

Optician told me to wait 3 months before getting tested. Turned out the cataract op left my vision 1 diopter out in that eye so pretty good but not perfect.

Good idea about removing the lens temporarily.
