I used Azopt in the past for a few weeks but had to stop them. They made me keep stumbling when I walked and I also had dreadful nightmares! My doctor reported these side effects to the relevant body. Hope you have better luck.

I didn’t think eye drops can have such side effects. I just feel headachy!

when I first started Azopt it made my eyes very sore for the first week then it settled down.

I feel tired a lot of the time but I don’t know if that’s due to the drops or me being lazy.

Fair enough! I shouldn’t read the leaflets

side effects !

I was prescribed Azopt eye drops two years ago.Soon after, I developed skin rashes on my arms and legs.

I was advised to switch to preservative free drops as skin problems are a possible side effect. I started using eyezeetan preservative free drops instead of Azopt and the skin rashes have gradually cleared up and I have had no further problems.

Thank you for replying. I read the leaflet which

I shouldn’t have done and there are hundreds of

So-called side effects!!! Including tiredness

for a couple of hours after use!

I would definitely consider switching to preservative free drops, just ask your consultant to consider altering the prescription. The preservative used in the Azopt drops is a common disinfectant used in a variety of products, including Bathroom cleaner and some bathing products!

I find all drops, PF or not, are bad news. Tablets better Acetazolomide. Keep eye on kidneys, eat plenty bananas to make up potassium. Good luck.
