Lowering eye pressure

Pre trabeculectomy I was on lantoprost for 3 months and it didn’t really lower my eye pressure and for the other eye I was on it for 6 months pre surgery. Tried fixapost and Timolol briefly before surgery and i don’t think it worked.

My eye pressures have gone up and the consultant has put me on monopost hoping the combination of the eye drops and trabeculectomy will work together to lower my eye pressure.

How long does it take for the eye drops to realistically work to lower my eye pressure?

sorry to hear the surgery has not worked 100% in lowering the pressures. Hopefully the combination of drops and surgery will work for you and get your pressures down.

Hello. There is no exact time but after starting a new eye drop, a follow up appointment is usually given for 2-3 months to check that the eye drop is lowering your eye pressure.
