I've recently been diagnosed with glaucoma and I am 31 years of age. I'm trying to research everything I can. I don't want to just rely on the eye hospital to help me, because they just gave me drops and hurried me out like I was on a conveyor belt.
If you can take a look at the video and let me know your advice I would be really grateful, thank you

Hi Mimesy! Hello! I personally would not do any exercises unless recommended by your consultant! I understand that when you first get your glaucoma diagnosis and are given drops and sent away it can be very frightening at first. I also understand that you want to “do” something rather than wait. However, I would take your drops diligently as prescribed and wait for your next eye check to see if the drops are working. Most glaucoma is maintained by a regular drops routine and keeping to your eye appointments. In addition, I would focus on eating healthy, exercising regularly, sleeping well and reducing anxiety any way you can (meditation, breathing etc) as these things will keep you healthy and help maintain your eye pressure. What type of glaucoma do you have? When is your next hospital check to monitor your drops? Take care!
Hi I agree with Beecalmed . Also weight loss if over weight like me and anything that reduces blood pressure will be good for glaucoma . At 53 I am finding that tough but still persevering . Assuming open angle ? But if closed angle there is a lot more immediate intervention like laser . I had both types now just open type due to successful laser .
It is good to think that you want to do something that may help your eyes and general health.
Perhaps your Doctor or optitian would be able to advise on eye exercises.
Meanwhile, I feel diet is extremely important, and at least even if I have inherited Glaucoma then I want to try and prevent other disease.
Highly processed foods which are sadly the most commonly consumed foods in the UK have been found to impair memory, and lead to brain changes in only 4 weeks, including addiction to these foods ! ( Ohio state university research)
They can cause many diseases, weight gain, cancer diabetes etc etc.
Diabetes then may cause glaucoma and macular degeneration, so very important to either keep type 1 Diabetes well controlled or try and prevent type 2.
Glaucoma UK has some excellent booklets and regular informative magazines. There are also many very interesting webinars available.
I wouldn't do any exercises from this video or any others you come across. Even the title is misleading. You cannot get rid of glaucoma with eye exercises, so please do not try any of them or others.
Ask your consultant if they know or could recommend anything to you. If they don't then this will be a good indication , to leave well alone and not try any.
If someone reading this has undergone successful eye surgery, the pressure of a massage on the eyes may cause problems.
The suggestions about eating healthly is good and I know some forum members swear that sleeping slightly elevated had reduced their eye pressure.
