Hi there,I too have very narrow angles which was discovered at a routine check at opticians last june.l was seen at hospital in August and then had an Iridotomy in September.Iridotomy is a painless Lazer procedure that opens up the angles and helps with the drainage.
Hello. Its really positive that your optician picked this up and you have an appointment soon. Narrow angles do put you at risk, as the angle can close and the pressure in the eye builds quickly as the optic fluid can't drain. However it is also easily treated by laser treatment, which is quick and painless. Not sure if the optician advised you of symptoms to look out for were the angle to close in the meantime? These are severe eye pain, headaches, nausea, hazy vision and seeing halos around lights. If this happens you need to go to eye casualty ASAP, as it's a medical emergency. I had narrow angles which were not picked up and I did lose vision. Its a long story as to the circumstances, but looking back I did ignore symptoms so this it's good to know what to look for just in case?! Try not to worry though as there is no reason to think anything untoward would happen before you are seen
Hello thankyou so much for ur reply. I have just had my goinoscopy as a urgent and they said I don't have narrow angles or glucome. Still not sure why the optician was so concerned. The opthalmologist said they can't see with the lense I use but still they worried you by saying the worst. Thankyou all for ur support and help. I wish all with the bottom of my heart a healthy life x
Good to read that you are reassured!... Now just to have regular eye examinations so you are confident!... Good day from Thailand and Monsoons beginning!
