Hi, I have pigment dispersion syndrome with a small amount damage to my right optic nerve but no change on visual fields on either eye. My pressures are relatively well controlled on latanoprost and dorzolamide. I am planning on trying to get pregnant next year and wondered how others managed their eyes while pregnant.
I am aware of all different treatment options and risks associated.
I have been to two different consultants - one has said to come off drops and monitor pressures throughout pregnancy, the other has advised MIGS surgery. So 2 very different opinions.
Thanks in advance.

Just to say that although one of the benefits of MIGS surgery is to completely remove the need for eye drops you do have to follow a very strict regime of daily drops for several weeks, starting the day after surgery. You are also initially very restricted movement wise; you can’t bend down or lift anything heavy, for example. You may want to factor recovery time into your decision.
Wishing you all the best whatever you decide to do.
Though our situations are a little different, I can share my past situation with you. I have had glaucoma since childhood and had various surgeries and drops too. I was pregnant in 2012 and on the advice of my consultant I stopped my eye drops entirely and went for more regular check ups instead. Interestingly during pregnancy, my eye pressure decreased a little. At that time the only info that I felt was lacking was whether to breast feed as I was advised to go back on the drops after my child was born. I had such differing opinions given as to weather the drops would affect this that I lost my confidence and switched to formula feeding. Best wishes to you 😊
