Hi all, new here and new to the condition. I had eye surgery, trabeculectomy last wed on my left eye and a laser treatment on my right eye . I am interested to know if you have been able to continue to work in your current job or change careers? Thanks for reading my message. Sammie.

Working with Glaucoma - any advice welcomed
Hi Sammie, I hope that you are recovering well from your surgeries. I’ve had cataract surgery in both eyes, a left eye trab and also have a floater in my left eye but so far I’ve not needed to change career. That said, I suspect that it all depends on what your work entails, if any adjustments or compensations can be made and how advanced your condition is so I suspect that you’ll probably get a full range of experiences. I used to worry that if I lost my driving licence due to limited vision that I’d have to stop working but COVID has shown me that working from home is very possible so that concern has diminished for me somewhat. Best wishes.
Hi Sammie, hope you are making a good recovery from your surgery, and your vision is goodNot sure if you've seen any of my posts or replies but I've documented that I was born with glaucoma, I'm 4th generation in the family, I was diagnosed as a teenager and I'm now 58 yrs young, I've always worked in an office/clerical environment with no problems, currently I'm a receptionist in a leisure centre and apart from both eyes getting dry I've got no problems
