I take eye drops for my glaucoma twice day. I have had vary-focal lens replacements a few years ago. After visiting the optician I have been told that glasses cannot be given for these types of lenses. I have a lot of trouble reading , Can’t get an appointment at the moment to see my consultant. Has any one had this problem please ?

Lens replacement with Glaucoma
Have you tried phoning the Glaucoma UK helpline ;01233 64 81 70 ?
They are very helpful. Otherwise are you able to write directly to your consultant, explaining everything you have had done to your eyes, your medication etc ?
Good luck
Hello Sportsmad.
This isn't something we could advise you on so the best thing to do would be to get back to your consultant to discuss further.
If your optician isn't being very helpful and referring you to an ophthalmologist, I'd talk to your GP. Also, if you've been previously seen by an ophthalmologist at the hospital, it may e worth contacting the secretary
Thank you for replying. I have seen my ophthalmologist and after consultations and in depth inspection of my eyes decided that laser treatment could help my problem. I did go ahead with that and I am delighted to say that it has solved my problem. I am disappointed with my optician for not really offering a solution. Thank you for answering me,
