Anybody experience side effects from long term use of predisolone?

Predisolone is the only thing that is helping my condition but I'm concerned about the long term side effects. Does anybody experience long term side effects from predisolone?

Hey, Do you mean Prednisone? I'm not familiar with Predisolone.

Hi Steve thanks for your response and sorry for the late reply, I've been off the grid. Yes I do mean Prednisone. Any info you could provide about long term side effects and possible alternative medications with less side effects would be a big help.

Side effects of corticosteroids when taken over a long time are unfortunately many.

Not really any alternatives but it depends on what you are taking them for. Those with ABPA can take itraconazole to cut prednisolone dose and thus reduce side effects

Hi Graham, I have just been diagnosed with ABPA on top of Bronchiectasis. I'm due to start on steroids & anti-fungals but consultant won't do this until my high liver markers have been investigated. Have tried twice today to join the group uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/A as suggested above but although I have entered numerous of the codes (are you a person or computer type of codes) I just get error messages and cannot see where to send a message for help in joining the group. Feeling a bit scared & frustrated.
