Does Mould Cause Chronic Fatigue ?

I live in a mouldy bungalow amd my bedroom is the worst area . Since moving here in 2016 my health has gone downward especially with the brain fog and chronic fatigue . I rent this home and it was the only one that would accept a dog . There is rising damp and mould at one end of my room particularly . I have been to the doctors and the man told me mould does not cause chronic fatigue just respiratory problems. I knew he was a twat so did not bother to ask any more questions. I am very weak and any exertion requires a long sit down afterwards . If it is not that it is ME and where does that come from , maybe mould ?

Regards

Teresa

Goodness yes I'd say so. Anything your immune system has to fight off can bring you down.. The main thing is it can exacerbate candida naturally in our system & skin. As someone with an immune weakening condition I have been told I must stay away from moulds. I also have info from pharmaceutical companies stating that mould conditions in the home are a contributing negative factor to existing health conditions & must be avoided.

Get your immune system tip top as soon as possible & get rid of this mould. There are paints which cover mould available if you cannot yourself remover. Purchase cheap surgical disposable face masks from ebay for when near or dealing with the mould. Protect your dog from the mould too. Detox on Amazon sell a spray which kills mould BUT TAKE NOTE when spraying the mould it may spore from the wet droplets. So protect your self & your dog when treating & shower afterwords. Spores will cling to fur so keep your dogs coat protected & clean & ensure his immune system is tip top. Consider using an air cleaning machine with changeable/ washable filters & an ioniser. For a quick immune boost use tesco equivalent to Barocca boost with Guarana. Also on ebay by Nu spray vit B12 with Q10 will give you an immediate mental energy boost. It's triple boosted my B12 on my blood test. Get sunshine on you & your dog's skin or take calciumD3. Think positive & get this sorted as you know you can. Have a blood test to rule out anything else going on. Do research online to prove your GP wrong & show it to him/her.. I always do this. Then rate your GP on 'I want great care' website

You probably already thought of this, but tiredness can come from shortness of breath. So a fungal growth in one’s lungs can absolutely decrease energy due to lack of oxygen. You may want to try Neem leaf/bark capsules: 10 a day for 3 weeks. Fortunately, they resolved my lung fungal growth. All the best to you. I am so very sorry for your heartache and struggles. As Graham said, too, you need to remove the mold from you OR yourself from the mold. A human cannot live and thrive around mold for very long.

Without being too specific, living in a damp home is known to be bad for our health - particularly allergic and respiratory illnesses. You would be best advised to ensure your home is clean and dry - see nacpatients.org.uk/damp_gen...

Move away if you cannot trace the source of the damp in your home, sadly, staying in a damp home can make matters progressively worse. NB it is never a good idea to try to cover up damp & moulds unless you are sure that you have discovered the source of the damp.

There are a whole variety of symptoms that have been attributed to damp & mould. Some of this work is not very good, some is. Tiredness is reported by a few but that data is poor so your GP is right, nothing is proven. I assume your doctor has checked for things like vitamin levels, anaemia, thyroid deficiency and so on.

Just some advice from a practical point of view - your landlord, by law, has to sort out this problem. You must make them aware of it and ensure they put a plan in place to deal with the rising damp if that is what is causing it. Also check your own habits ie. are you ventilating the place, are you ensuring that if you dry wet washing inside you put in in one room with a dehumidifier and the door closed? If the landlord does not sort it out report to your council and tell them about the health effects but give the landlord a chance to sort it first - are they aware of how it is affecting your health? Mould can be removed professionally and the landlord should pay for that - company called rainbow international do it. For around £150 (I think) they’ll remove it and produce a report of what is causing it.
