This is a long shot but I’m trying to find out if anyone suffers from the same condition I have. 8 years ago I started getting really painful planter facia muscles (both feet). I was first mis diagnosed with planter fasciitis but that was then ruled out as I don’t have the same symptoms. I’ve seen all the specialists in the city and nobody knows why I’m in so much pain. They are now saying my calf muscles are very tight and I might benefit from calf release surgery. Does this sound familiar to anyone???

Painful feet!
same here Sam. I only have this in one foot however, I too was diagnosed with Plantar fasciitis. This proved to be sort of correct but the irritation of the fascia was coming from not only tight calf muscles ( particularly the peroneal tendon area ) but also I have piriformis syndrome in the hip, tight there too. I have a weekly massage , it’s painful but it certainly helps. The strange thing is, it can be agony one day and much better the next . Weird . I would recommend the regular massages before surgery . Good luck and best wishes
I was diagnosed with neuropathy 5 years ago now I am starting to have painful feet and tight calves in both legs and feet it is very painful to walk. I plan on making an appointment with a podiatrist.
If you haven’t had nerve perfusion study get a neurologist to schedule one for you. Also, an MRI in lower lumbar: 1. with contrast and 2. Without contrast should prove helpful to you and answer many questions if systemic cause in
both feet.
I’m assuming you’ve downloaded and read “Small Nerves - Big Problems,”
A comprehensive patients guide for small fiber neuropathy.” It’s written by by Drs. Todd Levine and 6 other neurologists and covers the reality pretty extensively. It’s available online download (e-book) or short text for $20. hiltonpub.com.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
