Non Diabetic Neuropathy and the DPN Cocktail

I am a non diabetic that suffers from neuropathy. I have tried a number of prescribed medications, ranging from gabapentin to Lyrica, all of which proved unsuccessful for me. Today, I came across an article that touts a cocktail for Its benifits for diabetics suffering painful neuropathy. See the following: "The DPN cocktail has three components: Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) as contained in Evening Primrose Oil (EPO), and Vitamin C." The article gives the specifics of the cocktail, and the link is, the following: diabetes-support.org.uk/inf...

Has anyone tried this cocktail? I read the entire article and plan to try it. I didn't see any negative supplement to supplement interactions, and would welcome feedback from others that may have heard about this cocktail and/or tried it, or your opinion about the article.

I have non-diabetic idiopathic PN. I take ALA, Evening Primrose, Magnesium, vitamin B12 and vitamin D. I have no idea if it helps, but the PN doesn't seem to have got any worse.

I would have his B12 checked and if the result is below 500 then one can suffer neurological damage - neuropathy being one. Always obtain copies of test results from the surgery to monitor your own health and to check what has been missed :-) Docs often say normal/fine/OK - when they mean in range. It is where you are in the range that brings wellness ! Scroll down in the link below to read the neurological signs and symptoms ....

Just from reading on the internet. Doctors have no thoughts on what to do. As I say, I don't know if it helps.

I have not tried that particular mix---but I put six to eight "powdered" nutrients in every quart of water I drink throughout the day. Particularly heavy on the ascorbic acid--since you "can never get enough Vit C. I also add MSM, Malic acid, arginine, potassium, and aspartic acid. I top that off with four pink packs of saccharin. I buy the saccharin as Regal in boxes of 2000 packets. But--simply google "nutrients for nerve damage" and put it in your drink throughout the day. The whole idea is to get "enough." But then I take dozens of caps, also. We will never know the true interactions. Nevertheless--I am 76 without any problems except for a non-diabetic PN which is stable. I have never needed a prescription and have no arthritis. ---Eric
