Neuropathy and magnesium

Just wondered if anyone can advise the best magnesium supplement for idiopathic neuropathy.

I have tried citrate but that doesn't do anything. It is so confusing because there appear to be quite a few different types of magnesium.

Hello !

I have neuropathy too. I take magnesium glycinate believing its the best absorbable. Whether it does anything for neuropathy,i dont expect it to show, but it is needed for nerves and helps us from getting worse too fast, i guess.

Magnesium is needed in the body in so.many unseen ways in cascades of chemical reactions.

I am thinking of trying Magnesium L-Threonate as it passes through the brain. This form has been around since 2010. I just read about it on bebrainfit dot com and Dr.Mercola recommended it in another article ive read. Apparently, however, if you feel.you are magnesium deficient, take the glycinate form. You need lots of the threonate form as the formulations contain little in a large dose.

If you have a doctor, i would ask him what he thinks is best for you. I also read if you have kidney disease, you should not take magnesium.

There is no majic cure for neuropathy. Vitamins helps us.

Good luck !

Thanks for your reply, I will definitely try the glycinate.

Wouldn't have a hope of seeing a doctor to ask, I think they have become extinct where I live:(

Hi I have had NP for the past 4 years and I have been using Lions mane and Magnesium from British supplements, you can contact them for help, I have tried a lot of supplements through the years and only take Amitriptaline at Night time 20mg, I also have OA and some days the pain is awful, I have not taken any Medical meds because of side effects, I exercise on a daily basis 30 minutes per day.

You need to read up on Supplements most are filled with stupids fillers that do nothing, try Super Greens in capsule form, make sure any supplement tells you 100 percent what is in it Hope this helps
