Hi. I’m Brooke. Been on here a bit but have not done an intro. I’m 21. Diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at 19. I have various other health issues. B12 anemia, scoliosis, and random symptoms I am still trying to piece together. I recently saw a rheumatologist who told me I had Fibromyalgia on a whim (no questions on symptoms or tests). And he told me to go to a gym. Cried for hours. I just wanna know what else is wrong with me. I’m just so tired of being sick and tired.

I too was in so much pain that I didn’t know what to do! For almost 15 years I wanted to die as soon as I woke up. About 5 years ago I finally went to see a rheumatologist after my pcp told me numerous times that there was nothing more he could do. I didn’t want to be that person that people thought was crazy bc I ended up seeing every specialist possible without any reasoning behind my pain so I waited until it made me a mean, cold, hateful and unenjoyable person to finally decide. After seeing the rheumatologist over the course of 3 years, I had tried every med available for the psoriatic arthritis diagnosis given to me. Steroids helped but that was it and not at 100%. I was on them for 18 months till I finally gave up and went off of everything. After all of this and the constant pain, I found myself so depressed and even more fatigued bc there was no known reason behind my pain and nothing fixed it. My pcp put me on Tramadol and Cymbalta. I stayed in that for about 6 months and still nothing. I went back to pcp last summer in tears and at my end so he acted very quickly and put me on Wellbutrin. Still nothing but I went back a few weeks later still at my end but did tell him the Wellbutrin was taking some of the fatigue away so he doubled my dose to 2-200 mg pills a day. Within a week I was completely out of pain and able to go off Cymbalta. I still need the Tramadol every 4 hours but I’m not just gobbling pills to try to feel better, I actually am better. Wellbutrin is an anti depressant that takes away a lot of the fatigue known to come with chronic fatigue or depression and that’s why I tried it in the first place. I’m not sure if the same would help you but there is hope and what do you have to lose? Hopefully some misery! I guess it’s all worth a shot if you wanna die anyway bc everyday is miserable.

I was on wellbutrin, and yes it gave me energy, but then my sister had a bad reaction to it. I’m not sure if you’re aware, but wellbutrin and tramadol together can cause seizures :/ she had one. After that, I was scared and weaned myself off. I was on cymbalta, and it did not really help. But when I got off, the withdrawl symptoms liked to kill me! Especially those brain zaps. But I am so happy to hear you finally found something to help you! Just be careful taking the wellbutrin and tramadol together like that. I think it is iffy depending on the time window. I appreciate hearing your story and advice!

When having B12 injections it is important to also take a good B Complex that contains folate or Folic Acid. This is because B12 and Folic Acid work together in the body in a very important way. Also a B Complex keeps all the B's in balance which is also important.

I inject weekly - no Terminal Ileum - and take Thorne Research B Complex from Amazon.

Have you had Ferritin tested and VitD ? So many are low on VitD - an anti-inflammatory - teroidal - pro-hormone - so MUCH more than a vitamin :-)

CFS can also be linked to Low Thyroid levels so am wondering if you have been tested correctly. The NHS rarely do the correct tests needed to diagnose and have little understanding of treatment .... sadly.

You can click onto my username above and have a quick read of my edited Bio - only takes a couple of minutes !

There are almost 79,000 members on the Thyroid Forum so worth a look. Once medics label you with CFS/Fibro they seem to give up searching for the root cause.

Well my doctor told me there was no point in taking B12 or B complex in pill form, because my stomach acid eats it up before I can use it. Because I did take pills, and my levels did not change. I had my thyroid tested, but that was probably a year ago. I will check it out! Yeah unfortunately, they think they cannot help me anymore. Or they think I don’t have CFS/ME at all and wanna tell me I have something else.

Hello, sorry to hear your feeling so unwell. Unfortunately it's usually a rheumatologist that diagnoses fibro and there is no test for it they test for other symptoms if they are clear than fibro is usually given. My symptoms are extreme fatigue, pain in shoulders neck back, needles and pins in hands and feet, rls, ibs, mild widespread pain and insomnia! Yes fatigue all day and up all night!!😲 And a few more Oh fibro fog. The fibro forum is great for info and support if you want to see if any of your symptoms are fibro, I hope not but I'm sure you want answers. Nite nite🌜💤💤. Chris

Thank you for your comment. I could have it. I don’t know. The problem is the symptoms of Fibro and CFS are so so similar. They overlap.

Hi

May I suggest you research TMS. Tension Myositis Syndrome. Google and use You Tube. Then purchase a book on the subject. Afterwards please contact me and I can give you some more advice.

Hope that helps.
