Electronic noise - suggestion to help with jerks/shakes

I asked another group member and thought I would post their reply here:

I use AirPods with noise cancellation and conversation awareness . This way you can dim the noise and still listen to someone speak. I use them at church, the grocery store , gatherings, movie theater, live plays, sport events, and basically every! Also vibrations from sounds cause my shakes, so if I don’t have tools on hand then I rub and lightly tap ( play a piano scale back and forth with my fingers) my legs/arms/ head to let my body know where I’m in space and that I’m safe.

Thanks for these suggestions. The jury seems to be out, on whether it is best to reduce/avoid the noise that triggers the shakes (tics, vocalisations) or gradually try to desensitise yourself. Therapy in the area of hypersensitivity seems to be very scarce .. what's new?

I asked her what "tools" she also used, as I knew she would be referring to sensory. I think she has been to Re-Active and was one of the original members too l and will see if she has had an interview with them that has been posted.

Thanks for investigating further. The rubbing she suggests would act as a stimulant on my body, and it would react with more shaking/noises as would the stroking suggested by Prof Mcglone ..difficult.
