Hi Littlecook,

It's great she's being so understanding - much less stress for you :) I asked Kevin from the Life on the Level support group if he could recommend anyone for you to assess and treat your motion sensation symptoms but they haven't had the capacity to build a list of providers, unfortunately. I am working with a fairly high profile neurologist in London at the moment, who is well connected so he may be able to recommend someone for you. This data base of consultants from the Meniere's society is probably out of date but it might be somewhere to start. menieres.org.uk/files/pdfs/...

Your GP can do some digging for you too since it would waste NHS time/money for them to send you to someone who isn't suitably qualified or experienced.

Hope your weekend is going well :)

You're very welcome and I hope the consultant I'm emailing can suggest someone good for you although your GP should be able to help too :) The general advice for people with motion sensation symptoms is to keep as active as possible so that your brain gets the chance to heal naturally (the technical term being neuroplasticity) and this can help with any feelings of depression too because of the endorphins from exercise. So it's a win/win and free, too :) Although this can feel hard for us initially, it does work but given the heat at the moment I'd suggest that any exercise you do is either when you're sitting down ('sit and stay fit' stuff like raising your arms over your head and clicking your fingers 50 times) or baby steps outside. I trained as a laughter wellness facilitator about 10 years ago and that's great exercise too and can help to rebalance your freeze/fight/flight mode with your rest/digest/repair mode.

I'll let you know as and when that consultant gets back to me :)

That reminds me of the famous saying "laughter is the best medicine".
