How can I fight for a place at 6th form when I can't get my child to regular school due to headaches and no sleep.
Then to add to that Neurology are referring back to GP (suspected to have a ASD) and Neuropysch is away till after the meeting (think still to confer with Neurologist), so no letter or referral done yet.

I'm assuming you've tried getting a sick note explaining the situation? Because if that's the case, and grades are above the minimum threshold, then it's discrimination.
I'd be speaking to a disability charity to see what they say, since they can give disability law advice.
Thanks Lily, I didn't think of a sick note for a child, kind of relate that to work. When I received a copy of the letter to the Neurologist which I requested the GP to write, he wrote my son and I will quote "he looked well in surgery and examination was normal".
The way I see it, education is a full time job. Sick notes are definitely useful for it.
Even if he doesn't have a diagnosis, he can get sick notes for the symptoms.
Definitely look into disability discrimination - if it's been ongoing for longer than 3 months and he's had no accessibility assistance, they've already failed him and their duty towards disabled [including chronically ill] individuals. You can report the school to the board of education for this kind of malpractice.
Its affected his education for two years nearly. They made access adjustments for certain symptoms (ie when he had FMD but no extra educational support for his non-attendance due to other symptoms.
I now need to check attendance records and cross check against my notes but its emotional reading it all back and putting it on a spreadsheet (that I did for Neurologist visit).
He was never under SEN and as the Paeds letter said he needs to be at school back in June 22, they still keep referencing that.
I have asked for their local authority contacts name.
Hi, just thought I would add an update, we have been offered a place (subject to grades as normal) but still have to meet Heads of current year and 6th form because 20 days absenteeism is going to be challenging.
