Has anyone ever gotten fnd after a car accident or concussion? Mine really got bad after this and a viral illness.. my symptoms are facial spasms/tics, mild muscle spasms and jerks, chronic pain everywhere including joint pain. The weakness and balance issues have gotten better for me. My neurologist did mri brain and spine, emg, all sorts of blood work, etc.. nothing. Thinks it's post concussion syndrome with FMS and maybe some FND. But everything I am reading here makes me think I should be having severe trouble walking and seizures. Oh my! I hope it doesn't progress to that?! Help! I have some joint and muscle pain that makes it a little hard to walk and some pins and needles but nothing as bad as I'm reading here. Will I get better as time goes on?

FND after concussion

I was misdiagnosed after having a similar story to yourself, my head injury wasn’t due to a car crash but my incident left me with migraines which they mistook for FND.
I don’t have trouble walking or seizures, but I was left very off balance. Facial spasms and pain all over the top half of my body. It does sound like post concussion syndrome and head injuries can also trigger migraines.
Hope you find a solution and an answer to your problems soon. 🙂
Thank you. Yeah I get the really bad spasms. Had an EMG which showed nothing. It even said no fasciculations. I was convinced I had something serious.. they didn't formally diagnose me with FND but sent me the neurosymptoms website. They said I had post concussion syndrome with fibromyalgia more than likely.
Sometimes I can see my arm shaking which is a little scary. I do feel as if I have improved. I had 2 concussions in a year and 3 in my life.
Heilo there,Got FND after having been in an earthquake, so sort of same as car accident, spasms, ticks and pain, balance issues, wabbly walking, speach problems and many more are all associated with FND, You need to delve further, FND in most cases can be linked to a severe trauma, not always, but there are my symptoms that you can get, sometimes you get better, sometimes you dont, and sometimes you get better and relapse, having lived with FND for 6 years, its not so bad if you can get in the right frame of mind,
love to you and yours
take care in these times as you are at risk,xx
Thanks guys. Had a bit of an incident that landed me in ER. had heart palpitations and sonic tachycardia. Probably unrelated but I think I had a severe reaction to cymbalta and had to go off it which led to some withdrawal. Doc also wants me weaning off gabapentin too so next month is gonna be hell. My pulse was up to 170 at one point. I'm hoping that once I go off this drug I will feel a little better.
Hello there,I have read your post.
I am not quite sure of the meds you are taking but understand how you got to ER.
DOCTORS are not always right. It takes a lot of juggling with drugs until they find the right ones that suit you. only info i can give is to tell the docs all that you feel. so as they can prescible the right meds.
i wish you well and much luvxx
