Burning tongue

Hi

Developed approx 4 months a go burning feeling from my tongue and it happens during drinking juice or having a ice lolly or some chips or a sandwich no matter what I eat my tongue goes into burning mode.

My skin has also become more sensitive from 4 months ago same period as burning tongue started.

Just wondered if any FND suffers from the same problem with your tongue or skin.

Must admit it’s one thing coping with neurological symptoms but this is cherry on the top. Just cannot enjoy food I used to love and also I’ve cut down on food as well Dursley’s to burning tongue.

Regards

Mark

Hi

I also get this periodically but i can just wake up with a swollen sore tongue - it seems to be a random thing as I can't link it to food... i got a TBI almost two years ago with an FND diagnosis, but this has only happened in the last six months. Take care x

it can be medication related...I had it and cant remember the meds I was taking but it went away when I stopped the tablets...think it may have been procyclidine but if you are on meds then check the side effects

Hi,

have had FND for over 5 years, but your post on burning tongue caught my attention.

I don,t like to post here as I have had it for so long, and don,t want to come accross as patronising-please excuse me.

BUT I HAD A BURNING ANF STILL HAVE A BURNING TONGUE TOO, NOW AND AGAIN. I don,t know why (I wish I did) but I know this is one of the symptoms of FND, it may be linked to B12 injections, as many people who have FND have a B12 definciency ant don,t know it, its best if you as your doctor if you can have a test, but they should have picked up on this already if you have a good doc.

BEST WISHES, PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU WANT TO TALK OTHERWISE I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST, THIS IS A VERY DIFFICULT CONDITION TO UNDERSTAND.

MUCH LOVEx

I have same problem with my tongue, never linked it to FND. I have regular B12 injections but it never helps. It's so hard to take over the counter meds as I take 20 tablets a day, all prescription. The chance of reaction high. Natural doesn't always mean safe. I hope you find something that helps.

Many thanks for reply, get near constant water infections so could be down to that on my 3rd type of antibiotic to try and beat this nasty infections.
