Painful stimulus techniques

Has anyone else been subjected to painful stimulus techniques? I get drop attacks and these techniques have caused me more distress than the attacks themselves. In just one visit to the hospital, the paramedic did a trapezius pinch, the ER doctor did a sternum rub and the nurse repeatedly did peripheral pain techniques (squeezing a pen into my fingernails and toenails). During these attacks, I can't speak but I can cry, as the nurse noted. If anyone has any ideas on how I can stop them doing this stuff to me, I would be very grateful. They appear to think that if they do it enough, they can make me "snap out of it", but I think it just makes the attack last longer....

Van604 I'm so angry that you have been subjected to this!

I carry with me a sheet about FND - in my purse, gym bag, suitcase, car etc. It is attached to the list of Medications that I take so that the medics will see it.

Also, I have created these cards which are attached to my purse, gym bag, suitcase, (you get the picture )which gives specific instructions on what to do if I have a drop attack. My purse is the cross-body type that is attached to me, and medics rarely will remove it before transporting me to hospital. PM me at facebook.com/carol.caldwell... for photos if you want.

Also, I don't go out alone, and have told everyone that I am with not to leave me alone with any medical personnel.

Thanks so much for the empathy. My problem is, when they see my diagnosis on my records (conversion disorder), that tends to be when my problems start. The paramedic told her colleague "I think this is behavioral" right before pinching me. They seem to believe that I'm faking it for attention, or whatever, and that I'll stop if they hurt me enough. Last time, a friend came to the ER with me and gave them really good information, but they still wanted to kick me out at 2am, before I could walk. I'm literally at my wits end here and am considering moving away and starting again somewhere where the medics get it.
