Yes, I have vocal tics at times, but I do not have Tourette's. I also sometimes have echolalia.

Echolalia is the repetition of what someone else says. Also, sometimes when I have a word in my head, I uncontrollably blurt it out with force.

I can relate, a little. I don't have Tourette's, but my speech is affected in many ways. We giggle frequently because I "Babble". It sounds like a foreign language. Most often similar to Native American. It really is just a bunch of syllables stung together. I only have control to stop it and stopping causes a peculiar grunt. However like Tourette's, I frequently blurt out this nonsense loudly. When you add the myoclonic jerks that happen frequently it looks a lot like Tourette's.

So... I've been doing this for years and trying to stiffle it because I get embarrassed... more so when it's 'fuck off bitch' for no apparent reason. Sometimes it happens so suddenly I even make myself jump. But lately I've felt less like I have the energy to keep hiding it... or is it happening more, I'm not sure. But regardless... should we even hide it? It's exhausting having FND, and exhausting having a blurting episode, so trying to hide it is more tiring. Makes it not so invisible huh! Thing is, until today, I never knew other people who didn't have tourettes did this. It's nice to know I'm not alone after all.
