Hi I've had this problem since I came back here just when the weather gets warmer though. Even though I lived in 40-50 degree heat for 20 years and still managed I'm struggling with 13 degrees yesterday and I look like iv been on a 2 week holiday just from being outside. I think it's the Sjögren's though

My gp receptionists must have in their system if I call - to book a long appointment. My gp became my social worker, doctor, counsellor, and advocate for everything going on in my life as I had no other help.

He has been great but I have high standards as my gp in Australia was a friend. I'd forget to book an appointment then call Monday morning getting big sighs from receptionistas she knew I did it all the time and they'd have no appointments but she would go ask him and I would see him during his lunch hour.

He would sit and eat his lunch and ask me was I talking to my mum yet, anything juicy going on at work, and tell me off for slouching. He was Swedish and really laid back. I'd be there for his whole lunch and we knew everything about each other. He was in his 60s? He ended up retiring because his secretary took early retirement and he still wrote on little flash cards and I don't think another receptionistwould have understoodhim. But I think he'd still be there today if she had stayed. If I was going for an X-ray or scan he would write 'please see this nursing sister..' so I never had to book an appointment I'd just get taken right in. He was awesome.

There are some good docs out there 😊

My gp is good to when I get to see him and he has appointment he keeps spare for patients like me! It's still not more than 10mins sometimes but I tend to rush as I know they are busy 😍

Yes I don't have to say to hi now but sometimes when I'm in a short appointment I say - I'm not manic I'm just talking really fast because we don't have much time 😆

Hi

I too have dreadful problems with temperature control, mornings are worse, I am always so hot. I go into work and everyone else is shivering with jumpers and fleeces on and there's me the only one in a t shirt opening windows because I'm so hot! I also have a lot of trouble with my breathing x

I always have put breathing down to my asthma but as those drugs aren't working I'm guessing it's something else! How funny I'm

Also the one in short sleeves and no coat as I get do hot! I can't wear coats in general as I over heat.... today I'm cold feet and legs but hot head and upper body... hugs hope today is better or more bearable xxxx

I was told it was asthma then it was not, I've had tests for every breathing problem there is but they still haven't found a cause. It's so frustrating because I can barely walk up a flight of stairs without clutching my chest and gasping for breath it's ridiculous I'm only 37 too! Today has been an ok day, thank you for asking. Thank you for your private message also, I will try and get things sorted this week.

Best wishes to you

I also get short of breath and it's not asthma and sometimes so bad I have to walk from room to room and sit on the floor. I also get chest pains but it seems that's not a big deal here 😬

Yes chest pains... I thought was anxiety...,

in reply toenglishmumof2

No maybe it's easier for it to be diagnosed as but I get it if iv been carrying any weight eg shopping or sometimes when I stand up. It's in the middle of my chest to the left and feels like either really sharp or crampy pain like Iv torn a muscle or something.

And also chest pain should never be dismissed.

Chest pain for me was diagnosed as anxiety! Which considering the extensive heart check is true.... mine is mid chest towards right so not heart... apparently there's a muscle to the right of mid chest which flares up with anxiety.... but can't stand this temp problem as I struggle with sleep but this heat argh....

I'm only usually hot because I get up 4 hours before I have to leave to go somewhere then 15 minutes before I'm due to leave I'm getting clothes out jumping in the shower getting dressed and getting on a bus and always seem to end up on the sun blasting side of the bus, after that I'm cold. I had a stain fan in Australiafor my bedroomat night as we just had air con in the living room. I loved that fan

Have you had your eyes checked recently. Mine are really painful right now. Can't wait to see rheumatologist as eye drops no longer working.

I've had the same problem since all this drama started. At the beginning I actually thought I was going through early menopause! Just another random symptom to add to the basket of random crap we put up with eh!

That's funny I was thinking maybe early menopause! Suppose I'd better check in with gp rule something's out 😂

The autonomic nervous system controls sweating and is part of the peripheral nervous system which I think a few of us have issues with so it might be the brain is just messed up there also.

People who have been in serious accidents and eg are in ICU sweat a lot as their body is in shock and the brain can't control systems properly. Just like loss of ability to go to the toilet. Your brain just becomes overwhelmed. I think maybe with FND because the brain is not functioning properly or sending the right signals it might be making you hot then telling your sweat glands you are hot and to sweat to cool you down.

Damn annoying

Or I was google researching... my symptoms ... it could be hypothyroidism ... mood, tremors, cognitive, memory, movement disorders, depression , anxiety, muscle weakness.... but my last lot of blood tests where clear of any thyroid issues....

Hi, Hun, hope your packing and moving are going well for you, I'm still in the menopause, 14 years now as stated when 40 but Drs ignored me for a few years as said I was too young, when they finally did blood test I was well into my menopause and they had the cheek to blame me for being in danger of osteoporosis. I'm always hot, sweating or really cold day and night but I did read on one of the FND websites that FND can cause the hot and cold through not regulating properly but can also make menopause symptoms worse. It could be either, but a simple blood test can tell weather your in menopause or not, it's just getting a dr to do one. Big sweaty 🤗
