hi everyone, i’m newly diagnosed with FND, have had a brain MRI, but haven’t spoken to a neurologist because the NHS are so slow…
I struggle with movement in my hands when it’s cold and get sensations over my arms like it’s either raining or I am being stabbed with tiny pins in response to temperature change (cold or hot).
does this resonate with anyone else or do you think I should push for further tests to look for another condition?

I get occasional sensations of ' being stabbed with a pin ' it's part of my range of sensory symptoms. I don't know how you were diagnosed but I think it may be worth getting a ' rule in ' diagnosis from a neurologist. Worth doing a bit of research on rule in diagnosis before you see the neurologist.
If you are in England you can pick and choose where you go for your examination so picking a NHS Trust strong on FND would seem to be a good thing.
I think FND Hope has a list of trusts that 'do' FND, but knowing whether they are strong or not is very difficult. On paper my trust has someone who is ' a specialist in FMD" exactly what I have ...but no referral to him !
The prickling sensation is fairly typical I think .. and symptoms do vary according to temperature in my experience . .in fact heat can trigger severe shaking in my case ...and on a bad day so can a warm shower.
Try to get a rule in diagnosis though. Best wishes at this unsettling time.
Hi, I was diagnosed with FND around 2017 and I have found that I am experiencing different sensations which I have read could be part of the condition. I experiencing tingling similar to pins and needles in my legs mainly off and on and most recently pain in both legs especially my left thigh, which I have booked to see my Gp about. I have realised that once you have a diagnosis from a neurologist, they do not see you unless you develop further symptoms which could be caused by the condition.
