Hi
I was diagnosed last Friday with bc non invasive early stage. I had my Intravenous urogram today. My op is booked for a week Sat.
I was diagnosed December 2015 with aggressive cancer of the bladder which sent out secondaries into my lungs. They treated the bladder with Radiotherapy and in the summer 2016 the treated the lungs with Chemotherapy which ended in late August. The scan result for January shows the lungs are stable, the Oncologist added that I had no active cancer at the moment but my status remains palliative due to the nature of the Cancer. I have a very good positive attitude for the future and a faith in God that has got me this far. It is my prayer that you will be blessed with a good outcome.
good luck
wishing you well along this journey - just know that there are a lot of people that have gone before you and that are out here to answer questions and concerns along the way - you are not alone...don't let worry be something that you need to deal with. There is comfort through the knowledge of others. Best wishes for a successful operation and quick recovery.
It sounds scary but early detection is always good. TURBT ops are fairly straightforward. Hope it goes well and you recover quickly.
Good luck with it all and keep positive x
Hope all goes well.
Hi bizli, i see you mentioned early stage bc and scheduled for an op. Are you just having the tumor removed? Be mindful as some doctors will want you to have anop to replace bladder with an external bag or take part of your intestines to create a new bladder (you know wont when it is full) and it does not mean everything will be fine after that. For some people it works and for others they end up getting infections which brings about other issues.
BC does not have to be treated with chemo and radiation although some doctors are in a hurry to do this.
Early stages can be treated with BCG a natural pathogen which is used for treating tubercolosis. A German scientist discovered it could be used for BC. You can research it. The treatment generally starts for the first 6 weeks followed up by every 3 months (for 3 weeks ( for the first 1 to 2 years, then monitored every 4-6 months, then yearly. Please remember each person's condition is unique to themselves. Providing the treatment is successful a couple of follow up biopsies are good to have. Tests done via urine samples (cysto or cyto cant remember the exact name with a FISH test) will indicate any abnormalcy. The FISH is a DNA test which reveals at a very very age any likely cancerous cells developing. You can research this yourself.
Please pay attention to what you eat and drink. Many people. Are dismissive of this fact. Cut out sugars and foods that have corn syrup or syrups. Drink lots of water as it is important to flush out notmal body toxins. Remember the bladder is a reservoir and toxins settles on the walls just like a coffee pot that never gets washed. Never hold back from urinating when you can. Read your labels and most of all educate yourself on the subject. You have to take responsibility for your health as doctors can only aid and dont have a cure. Cancer loves sugar (including alcohol). Cancer hates an alkaline body or one that has oxygen. Important to build your immune system. Please check out thetruthaboutcancer.com. I tell people read, read and read about cancer so you can make an informed decision about how to take care of yourself. Too often people will only pay attention to what their doctors tell them because they are afraid and more often than not dont know to ask what questions or what to ask. I say this with no judgement.
Whatever you decide dont let the doctor or anyone scare you into cutting out body parts as the first step. You always get a second opinion and take control. You are not going to fall apart overnight. Try to get your head around the situation. Emotions can take you in the wrong direction because fear comes up for many people (naturally). Try to approach this holistically (mind, body, spiritually, emotionally) balance. Exercise (walk, ride a bike) whatever. Eat healthy...your greens especially. Try your best to not allow the conditions or environment for cancer to survive. Nothing is a gurantee, but as i said you take responsibility and take of the other side doctors cannot. Many people will go back doing whatever they were doing a only to find out they are back at square one again. The reason we get sick is that our body is telling us there is a malfunction.
You can only do the best you can do for as long as you can.
Sorry to labor on. Having recently gone through the journey i just wanted to share that there is hope and that BC is one of the most curable cancers.
Thank you for this very informative post. I will take it on board. I still have time before the op next week which is just the tumour and one dose of chemo. However, I can change my mind. Thank you again.
