I think the problem is we don't realise that we are not alone it is a worrying wait I empathise with you.

Id ring the scan dept and see if the scans been read yet and sent to ur doc. They can take up to 2 weeks. It took 10 days for my partners which showed a rumour on his bladder.

alex1964 profile image

thanx Rachel,i will once the bank holiday is over, hope your partner is doing ok and treatment is working

in reply toalex1964

Hes quiet poorly unfortunately his tumour between a t3 and t4 so bot good and muscle invasive. He starts chemo this week so hopefully it may shrink the tumour

Waiting for results is difficult and stressful, I have had 2 scans so far and have had the results within a week each time, my next scan is on the 17th June, this is the most important one for me as it should let the Oncologist know if the Chemotherapy is working. Hope you get good news soon, praying for you.

alex1964 in reply topeterh

thanx peter...were your results clear when u finally got them?

peterh profile image
peterh in reply toalex1964

Yes it was clear.just have inflammation caused by bcg treatment which presents it's own problems!

alex1964 profile image
alex1964 in reply topeterh

thanx peter, gives me some hope then, appreciate that :)

in reply topeterh

Does the inflammation from the BCG present symptoms? I am high grade but not muscle invasive. My last two TURBTS showed what was thought to be cancer, but turned out to be clear, pathology wise. I have been clean now since August 2015 but I have been having low grade nuisance pain in the region above pubic bone as well as strong urgency and pain at urination. Just curious since you mentioned BCG inflammation. My last BCG was in December of 2015.

Your situation is very similar to mine.bcg now makes me want to go to the toilet frequently and suddenly, although I don't do much when I get to toilet.also aches in pelvic area and tiredness

alex1964 in reply toerinlewis

thanx erin,it is stressful, especially when I feel fine,i was passing blood all day several weeks ago but that stopped,no pain,no feeling unwell, cant help but think it was just a one off and it seems a lot of fuss but I'm no expert

Hi,hopefully will be good news for you.If not you will be in good hands.I had other symptoms all connected with my waterworks. To cut a long story short had a cancerous tumour removed and follow up all clear,so for now ok but does seem to come back in a lot of cases. My name is Martin.Erin and Lewis are the names of my two young children.Have a good day and try not to worry

alex1964 profile image
alex1964 in reply toerinlewis

thanx martin, fingers crossed it stays clear for you,im pretty positive to be honest,i think the fact I don't feel unwell or have any pain makes me feel that way, just be nice to get it confirmed, sooner the better.

Yes Alex that's very true once you know what's going on you can deal with it.When I was told my head was all over the place but family and friends were amazing.Good to be positive

Timely reminder to all. Don't be afraid to ask relevant questions at any appointment. However caring the staff are .it is still routine work for them, and they can forget how stressful not knowing an answer is, when they are so busy themselves. They should tell you how and when you will get results. They do a fantastic job, but they are also fallible humans.

My wait was about 2 weeks, in my case the ultra sound had already shown i had tumours so it was no great surprise. Good Luck with your results Alex :)

glad to hear your prognosis is good, just don't get why it takes so long to get results to people knowing how important it is to treat it early not to mention the stress, every little niggle you have makes u wonder is it cancer,if they told u a lot sooner you wouldn't have to think that way

I contacted one of my support nurses from urology and I was glad I did as I am now also being referred to gynae clinic for something they could see on the scan

alex1964 profile image

alex1964 profile image
alex1964 in reply toLadbrokes66

ye seems to be the impression I'm getting...were your results clear?

Ladbrokes66 profile image
Ladbrokes66 in reply toalex1964

YES, clear of cancer, but heavy bleed last week, in hosp 3 days with catheter, they think just infection, bloods seemed OK, as a precaution CT scan kidneys and ureters, and yet another bladder camera in 7 days, was on pwerful anti biotic 5 days, bleed stopped after 4 day, and feel well, able to swim and light gardening, docs advised no cycling and this could open a self healed wound. The wait is always not good, knowing is best, even when the news is not the best.

I hope you get good news, they take their time with good news, or it seems that way

alex1964 profile image
alex1964 in reply toLadbrokes66

thanx for the reply, makes me feel more confident knowing yours wasn't cancer, gives me hope, like u I feel well and don't feel like I have lost weight or anything,i have not bled since that day so makes me think it was something like a broken blood vessel if not an infection but I'm sure I will find out any day now so ill post the good news when I get it :)
