Hi Alexandra,
I believe that fund-holding practices do have money available for holistic therapies, but they are at the discretion of the patient's GP.
Many GPs are happy to refer you to holistic therapists if they feel that you would benefit, so best to go and ask your own doctor.
Good luck with this, and let us know how you get on

Hi Alexandra,
if you are interested in Complimentary Therapies, can I provide you with a link to the FibroAction website to a recent informative Factsheet
fibroaction.org/News/New-Co...
Hope this is of interest
Emma
Thanks every one for your answers i will be checking out all the advice you have given me and will let you know how I get on. x
As Moffy said the person to ask (even if they the have to investigate) would be your GP as provision is so variable.
The factsheet Emma linked to goes into the evidence for each therapy discussed as a treatment for Fibro. To get the most out of treatment, it often makes sense to go with evidence based therapies that have been known to have a lasting effect. Some complementary therapies - e.g. acupuncture, which is actually quite widely available on the NHS - often only have a short-lasting effect, so when you are limited in how many sessions you can get, your time might be spent more helpfully elsewhere.
I too have spiritual healing. It's never used as a cure but does give upliftment . I also do Reiki and use this on myself. I am like you Wendyjoy, a spiritualist and training medium. Nice to share interests on here as well as ailments take carex
Presumably this is not on the NHS?
Hi linseymid, I have heard that some doctors are now employing healers to work in doctors surgeries. It would then be free. I do Reiki but I don't charge ( only travel costs if travelling to a clients house). Some people think I am mad, but I don't mind if it helps someone. If you have a spiritualist church near you then you can go there, everyone is welcome and you don't need to be a believer. All it costs is a donation of £1 to help with heating costs of the church. Of course it's entirely up to you. If you have a physio you could ask her what is available. Some therapies can be expensive and many cannot afford to have it. My best wishes to you x
