Good morning, I was wondering if anyone had tried reverse therapy or anything similar?
If so, how did you find it?
Good morning, I was wondering if anyone had tried reverse therapy or anything similar?
If so, how did you find it?
... well, I had to look it up as I had never heard of it before and these are the principles I found:
Understand the reasons for symptom appearances
Raise Awareness for situations which trigger distress
Learn how to 'read' Bodymind
Resolve the breakdown between Bodymind and the Critical Mind
Use Mindfulness to stay in Present Moment Awareness
Stay out of negative Critical Mind states
Develop emotional intelligence
Be more active and assertive
Balance personal needs with those of others
Restore the life-work balance
Sounds good to me - all principles to be applied and learned, BUT do you need to pay a Doctor for this?
For me, personally, the answer is 'no'. Others may differ. There are free mindfulness meditations available and probably also on Critical Mind ( I think of the basic of transactional analysis - also other books from the library can help) and there an excellent Australian web site CCI consumer workbooks with modules on various symptoms - you can study in you own pace - free.
I sometimes try alternative/complementary therapies, and I have just recently had a very good session in 5-element acupunture and - I did not feel the need to go back in the end. The practitioner let it slip that she has been seeing some of her clients for 10 years... mmh - I think there is a questionable balance of success and - what? payment?
I hope you find the right treatment/tools for you! Best wishes!
Thanks Barbsch54, I'll take a look at the resources you mentioned ☺
The principles mentioned by Barb seem likely helpful to anyone's life. This balance often helps us to live the best we can while affected by ongoing health puzzles.
It certainly does look interesting. I was told about reverse therapy by a Physio friend. A colleague had used it and is now completely symptom free of Fibro and CFS. Before the therapy she had needed to reduce her working hours significantly and was finding many aspects of her daily life challenging. She read a couple of books on the subject and paid for one therapy session to clarify. With lots of effort she now is painfree.
I was intrigued to know if anyone had gone through the process themselves as sounds alnost too good to be true 😊 I'm interested in any complementary therapies and will look into acupuncture as budget allows.
I have tried this for a short period and found it quite useful. However, this was during an MS awareness seminar and once this was done and dusted the therapy disappeared out of my life due to time constrictions. I would say anything is worth trying to see if it works for you?
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck if you decide to give it a go?

Mumsiana,
This looks quite interesting! I can see how it might help to restore balance and benefit health, on all levels. I hope you find this helpful!
