Hi All

I know that this isnt a normal question but has any one had sciatica before? I have been told yesterday that I have sciatica and been signed off for 2 weeks. I knew that the pain didnt feel like my "normal" FM pain.

Im just interested to see if anyone has had it along with FM?

Thanks

Jo xx

Hi Jo, I have had Sciatica on a number of occasions its so painful because once your sitting down your ok but when you get up its excruciating pain you can have it in both legs but normally effects just the one leg from your bottom going down the back of you leg! I've had it just recently lasting me 7weeks the longest time ever, all you can do is rest when possible take pain killers and use a hot watar bottle and it will go in time. Its nothing to do with the Fibromyalgia and I'm not sure why it comes on other than its to do with th nerve in your leg! I do hope you will be feeling better soon, lots of hugs to you.. Aisha x

I hope that it goes soon and im not off work too long again as last yesr i was off for 4months with FM.

Hi Jo, the pain is usually worse in your buttodks and it can effect you any where else! I get very cold feet its due to circulatiom problems I get it because I'm Diabetic I just make sure I wear warm socks and slippers when I'm indoors. I've been off work a lot with my health but now they are planning to get rid of me! Do you work? Take care Aisha....xx

Morning I have bi-lateral siatica so that is down the back of both legs from my bum to my toes with pins and needles pretty horrid. Mine is caused by my back which is suffering from stenossis in the bottom four vertabrae and this catches on the nerves and I havee a disk which keeps protruding and away goes the siatic nerve, Do rest and dont over stretch when it is bad take care Jo it does ease eventually xgins :)
