sooo confused

i ve just seen my rheumy. despite having me on steroids and plequnil he still is not sure what the problem is. he thinks it s nothing serious-i.e life threatening but i am still copnfused as i guess what i want is a staright answer. my symptoms seem very overlapping-i.e i have a very red nose, currently have chill blains due to raynards like symptoms, and the usual fibro fog, fatigue and pain. i am i alone here. initially he thought i had mild s.l.e then developed secondary fibro. today when i asked if my symptoms are m.e ish he said yes ...... errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well those treatments are treatments for autoimmune inflammatory connective tissue diseases, such as SLE.

These kind of condition can take a long time to resolve into a definitive diagnosis. Some people end up forever having a diagnosis of UCTD (Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease) or MCTD (Mixed Connective Tissue Disease).

It is important that your doc lets you know if he thinks you have this kind of condition as it does require different treatment to Fibro, and may lead to more serious complications in future.

It is just not easy getting adefinitive answer. So many GPs and consultants work on ruling stuff out rather than ruling stuff in if you know what I mean. Thye eliminate everything it could be until there is no other choice but that of fibro. Had it so long myself now it is more like a dear old friend xxxxx(hope you get and answer soon)
