im confused i have a medical on the 11th oct and then i got a letter today from the dla saying that theyd opened my file and still stand saying no to my application ?? so is the medical for dla or what??

there must be a phone number on the appointment letter in case you have any queues. give them a call. I'm sure they will put your mind at rest. are you claiming other benefits beside DLA, f so it could be for one of those. good luck xx
