Hi lynr,I don`t know for sure obviously but it sounds like a muscle relaxing as apposed to to a spasm if you are not getting pain with it.

I get this rippling feeling on the side of my head and would not have thought we had muscles there.

Hi lynr,

Maybe meditation would help. Also using Jin Shin Gytsu (pronounced gin shin gitsu). Lie or sit in a comfortable position, place the fingers of one hand on the part that is painful, sore, or has some discomfort, and the fingers of the other hand on the opposite side of your body somewhere below your waist and a little to the side. Leave fingers in place for 7 minutes. Take a breath and repeat with hands in the same position or swap hands.

You're welcome. If you want more information on this therapy just look up Jin Shin Gytsu on the internet. There are diagrams and other systems to help you sleep etc. and all of it is free :)

Hi butterfly54,

There are several layers of muscles all over the head, they form a lattice effect. Lots of tension can be felt in these muscles. If you press firmly with finger-tips all over you will find some areas more painful than others. When you find a sore spot press for 7 seconds at a time and then release. Repeat as many times as you want. This is acupressure and it helps all over the body.

Hi Sassi, thanks so much for that exsplanation. This rippling has had me stumped LOL.It doesn`t hurt just goe`s on for a bit longer than I would like as It`s always as I`m going into sleep.

Told my friend I now had restless head :-) I will certainly try what you suggest as just rubbing it doe`s nothing.

Love and hugs Butterfly54xxxx

As others have said it may well be nothing, but with anything that could be cardiovascular related it is always a good idea to consult your GP or NHS Direct.

Hi,

Yes I agree with this. I use all sorts of therapies, but recently had serious chest pain and pain down my shoulder and arm into my hands. I knew it was Fibro, but I did check it out anyway just to be sure. It was fibro.

Good luck!

If it is the fibro (which it probably is) let us know if the doctor can't help (which they probably won't be able to :) !) and we'll see if there's anyone on here who has an idea to help out.

Cheers

Si

Yes I get this regularly, goes from my chest to my neck and then jawline, feels like palpitations but doctors say it isn't as ive had my heart checked over because i was concerned. I just rest until it settles which can take from a few minutes to half an hour.

Yes I get this too. Generally muscles twitch in chest and often heart races and comes with sweats. Like others here tho I have had my heart checked and have been told it it symptomatic of Fibromialgia.

Generally it goes on it's own. Quicker if you can lay and rest but within an hour or so most times.

You should go and get your doc to check just in case tho.

I have to say, I thought, when this first made itself known, it was the beginning of a heart-attack! It wasn't and I've had it several times since. It isn't painful but it is a bit disturbing and as someone said, it's more noticeable in the quiet time when you're on your way to sleep (which with me is elusive at the best of times!). It's when the pulse banging in the ears starts on the pillow that I get up again...
