rough week

FM n menapause not a very good combination i feel totally exhausted ,how much longer will this menapause go on for im 56 n still having monthly periods, soft gentle hugs to all Tofty xxx

I am so sorry it must be awful for you, I finished the menopause at 41, and my doctor put me on HRT because I was so young, I would not be without it, perhaps you could talk to your Doctor about it?

My mum was like you and I think she finished about your age,

apparently the earlier you start, the later you finish periods, she started age 10 and I was 15, its what they call the rainbow effect.

At my surgery they have a nurse trained to deal with menopause and I see her now, she is great, very sympathetic, perhaps your surgery has one too?

I do feel for you Tofty, a horrible combo of the menopause and having Fibro! I fortunately went through my menopause at 45 with little or no symptoms before I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.

If you are struggling with all the symptoms pop along to your GP and see if they can help or advise you. Unfortunately no-one can tell you how long your menopause will last, some women sail through barely noticing anything, whilst others can have significant symptoms, pain, hot flushes, mood swings, irregular periods, headaches etc for up to ten years. It's not a known Science unfortunately. Similarly the age a woman starts showing signs of menopausal symptoms (the perimenopause stage) is variable from any age in adulthood.

I hope it doesn't last much longer for you Tofty, but if you do need help then please see your GP who might make it easier for you. Take care.

thanku for yr replies peeps but i havnt been able to have HRT coz i developed migraines with my menapause n they wudnt let me take it so now im nearly there they just say ive got to ride it threw,which i am but it can b very hard n painful xxx
