See web site dwp.gov.uk/healthcare-profe... I'm thinking we need to not just appeal been turned down for ESA/DLA we should be attacking the working practice and strategies of ATOS as a company and get the government to question their honesty and integrity.
Thought this was interesting, info on... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Thought this was interesting, info on ATOS.
I thoroughly agree. I can't see how a fair system of assessment can be carried out by any company that's working on commission . But there are other , equally as money fuelled companies waiting in the wings to take over from ATOS .
The truth is, this isn't about assessing whether or not someone is sick enough or disabled enough to need help financially It's a statistics massaging exercise .
The old system , that accepted info from specialists , carers , GP's and anyone with knowledge of your condition ( physios , therapists etc ) was already a fair system . I fail to see how a computer generated questionnaire and a 5 minute " touch your nose, bend you knees " test , carried out by someone with * some medical training *can prove or disprove fitness for work .
Disability can't be proven by a one-size-fits-all test .
As the judge on the appeals panel told me our health is measured in law....
its not a case of your illness/condition but how the condition affects you and is made to fit the law!!!

Well that means pretty much everyone is fit for work then, they can't lose can they ?

I'm trying to find out more information as BMA or GMC are supposed to be getting complaints about ATOS, I think attacking them maybe the way forward as there business practice is in serious question, if we dont complain about them to the BMA this situation may continue

I'm happy to back you BlueBunny, but I can't help thinking it won't make much difference.
I've read reports about other companies waiting in the wings who may turn out to be even worse. The security firm G4 being one of them.
