Hello fellow sufferers :-)
well we are a group of supporters so your at the right place . I think its the case of finding out what works for you ... and being kind to yourself . there are medications that can help and that ease some symptoms but its hit and miss with your GP who has to be your new friend cose its a bit of a battle for some .. depending on your situation and things there is a chance you may get dla or something but thats a citisans advice clame although there is a gov web page i am sure someone will post to you as i am usless at those bits ..
remember your among people who get it xx Gentel dyslexic hugs
Thanks, have had umpteem different "painkillers" none have worked, I go to see my GP in 2 weeks by which time he should have received the letter from the rheumatologist. I expect I'll be sent for physio. I go to aqua zumba classes at my local pool and I find that helps. I will be a regular on this site to get more tips and help.
The good thing you have done is joining us all on here : )
The best advice i can give you is to listen to your body, rest when you need to. Dont try to over do things because it makes the condition worse, pace yourself with any and all things. Definatley dont stress over things that you may have to put off for another time.
Its a case of trial and error where medication is concerned and dont be afraid to speek to your gp or change your gp to another in your paractice if they are not very helpful
And depending on how severe your condition is or if you have other conditions that you may have depends on whether you are entitled to benefits. if you cant walk far and have use of a car a blue badge is available
I hope this has helped you as a start, reading the past blogs on here can also give you an insight into what is available and what helps.
Hugs poppy xx
I work part time but 2 of the days are 8.30 am to 5,30 pm with an hour lunch break, I am starting to find these days quite difficult as I have to stand most of the day, I also have Osteoarthritis in my knees and feet, which doesn't help. But I try to be as upbeat as possible. my work colleagues are really understanding which helps a lot (but unfortunately the bosses aren't). Will probably need to think of cutting my hours soon.
Hello Hedgehog welcome to the site I am new too and have found advice invaluable I was diagnosed recently too but had been suffering for a few years, I found a Bupa fact sheet informative, if you need any advice there is always someone here to help you and support you and remember you are not alone x
Thanks Sparkle, I will find that factsheet and have a look
Thank you
