I can say i still unsure of diagnosis but nerve issues at times are mega 15 out 10 if not more and i have been on Morphine.. ihad a drip in at one point which hardly lasted minutes, then tramadol when home, then codeiene and prochloparazine for sickness but now found lyrcia and co dydromol help.Everyone is different!! unless your Dr will give you it then its hard to say.

Have you asked or something and they refused? My doctors just tend to ask me what i would like and i usually get as they understand my pain tolerance..xxxx not sure i am of any help though with that one :-/

I have been on morphine patches which i had an allergic reaction to the glue on them.

I was them on Morphine Sulphate Tablets for about two years taken twice daily which i found took the edge off and i now take Oramorph instead which i was recommended by my consultant after an operation i had.. Oramorph is basically Morphine Sulphate in liquid form.. i find it seems to help alot more and i take it with paracetamol. I have been taking Oramorph four times a day for about seven months ( the tablets were slow release )

Strong opioids such as morphine are not recommended for Fibro - opioids cannot work as effectively in someone with Fibro, but we tend to be prone to side effects, so the risk-benefit ratio isn't good, especially as these drugs do not target the processes involved in causing Fibro symptoms.

Some people do get prescribed these, but they would not be a primary treatment for Fibro. You would not expect to get good control of Fibro symptoms with strong opioids alone. Some people with Fibro who have other conditions that cannot be well managed, such as degenerative disc disorder, do benefit significantly from strong opioids.

There are so many people now addicted to strong opioid medication that it’s reaching epidemic levels. There are more people seeking help than there are for recreational drugs. Opioids become ineffective after years of use. Occasional use is better to retain its effectiveness and lesson the risk of addiction. I juggle use of Tramadol, Dihydrocodeine and Paracetamol according to how I feel and what I have planned and very seldom take the full prescribed dose. I have an unopened bottle of Oramorph which will remain that way. I am never pain free but it’s bearable. To be absolutely pain free you would need to be in an induced coma or sedated with Ketamine; no one wants that. I lost a gallbladder which had literally shrivelled up and died and developed diverticulosis from years of use of Naproxen. Everybody’s pain thresholds are different but don’t set your sights of using drugs to be pain free but to help manage pain levels and concentrate on maintaining a healthy body as best as you are capable.
