I’ve told my story on here about getting run over by a car in 1984 and the condition it left me in and the Fibromyalgia journey for the past six years or so but there’s just been another twist.
My condition means I trip quite a lot as I don't pick my feet up enough; two weeks ago I took a fall in my drive as I tripped over a hose pipe. Very sore shoulder and a large lump on top at the end of my collarbone. I think I’ve separated my shoulder to either a grade 2 or 3.
Joy.

I have a strange and maybe ridiculous suggestion here that might help boost spatial awareness just enough to make a difference to being able to walk without tripping .... Sketching out of doors (or from a window) to get the brain used to seeing angles and shadows, changes of light etc so that it just might start sending more of those sort of signals to brain, hands AND feet to sharpen up their act..... You could always use one hand to support or guide the other if there seems to be a significant strangeness in that activity that you have not really been that aware of before in the business of getting through daily life .... Not at all surprised to hear about your hose accident out of doors with the unusually poor light quality we have had all winter. I often use a walking stick very much for balance anyway since diagnosed in 2012 as I think it stops me getting so tired. - Hope your shoulder improves soon anyway. You ain't done for yet and spring and summer light is on its way! ... Just don't go lifting garden stones and stuff like that... Sketch, not stretch! ...Best wishes.
In a former life I rode motorcycles and raced cars; would hope my spacial awareness is good. I damaged my L4 and the nerves haven’t recovered so I can’t pick my feet up enough.
Ouch sounds painful. Did you get checked out with an X-ray ?that’s me if there s anything too trip over I will find it 😕as I do not pick my right knee up ,trying too keep moving as arthritis set in , sorry too read of your car accident that must have been awful. I still drive only local , I do not really enjoy it as people so impatient , no indication on roundabouts etc so that does not help and Winter Sun although lovely is directly in your eyes this times of year.
Okay, thanks for replying , my husband has now started too hang things on the outside wall with brackets like the hoses etc, i am a lot more clumsy since I’ve had the Fibro but also wear and tear on our bodies for sure. Take care of yourself.
